Job Summary:
We are seeking a Preparatory Cook/Event Chef to assist our culinary team in preparing various dishes and occasionally serving guests on sight at events. The Preparatory Cook/Event Chef will be responsible for organizing ingredients, following recipes, and performing basic food preparation tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven experience as a prep cook/event chef or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and assembling salads.
- Follow recipes accurately and maintain food preparation processes.
- Ensure all food preparation areas are clean and sanitized.
- Assist in stocking and organizing kitchen supplies.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Occasionally travel to event venues to prepare food on sight
- Occasionally travel to event venues to serve food to guests
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
- Basic knife handling skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Culinary school degree or relevant certification.
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service establishment.
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques.
